The School's Out program is designed to encompass different activities every day and create fun in a positive, valued-centered environment where girls are girls. Grouping is age/grade appropriate and our program is centered on girls, their interests and their needs. Games and crafts will be part of the activities offered and girls will be given a choice of alternatives. Some but not all activities are based around the listed theme.

Hands-on science activities, art and even basic crafts will connect you to the magic of the movies!

  • Learn basic animation and create a short movie.
  • Experiment with some of your favorite movie snacks.
  • Learn through science and special effects.
  • Channel your inner Kung Fu master like “Kung Fu Panda” and learn basic self-defense.
  • Make snacks like Linguini from “Ratatouille.”
  • Plus many more activites, inspired by your favorite movies!

Teens, are you prepared for an emergency? Learn how to be ready!

March 30 - 31 @ Camp Sacajawea
April 7 - 8 @ Camp Amity Acres

Teen girls will complete First Aid and CPR certification, learn how to handle emergency situations, make an emergency plan for their home or community, and much more at this overnight program. Teen Girl Scouts will earn the Emergency Preparedness Interest Patch.
Girls will need to bring sleeping bags, toiletries, clothes for the overnight and the next day, water bottle and mess kit. Programs begin at 8 a.m. on first day and conclude at 6 p.m. on second day. The $45 program cost includes Interest Project Patch, food and supplies.

Movie Trivia Overnight

This year, School's Out offers special, overnight sessions. Troops are welcome to join the festivities celebrating the movies.They will also enjoy dinner,movie games trivia and character dress up contest, come as your favorite character from movies such as Twilight, any Disney and Harry Potter.There will also be a movie and a continental breakfast. The program and overnight will take place at the Program Activity Center.

    All participants attending School's Out Programs must bring:

  • School's Out Health History Form
  • Pick-up Form
  • If attending horse, you must also have the Horse Release

 


Basic Camp
  • $40/day per participant
  • $25/day - 1/2 day per participant
  • Second child attends Basic Camp for half price. Third child is free. (excludes horse camp and child care)
Horse Camp
  • $35 - 1/2 day of Horse Program
  • $25 - 1/2 day basic camp added to Horse Program
Extended Care
  • $10 - Before Care
  • $10 -After Care
  • $15 - Before/After Care
Overnight
  • $20 for overnight program
Teen Emergency
  • $45 for emergency overnight program only

Schools Out programs are designed for girls who are off from school or home schooled. Our expectations on how we treat each other are rooted in the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Join us for fun activities during school's holidays.

Boys between the ages of 4 -11 may register as well. All activities are separate and girls/boys do not intermingle during the camp sessions; however, they may be together during before/after care and emergencies. Boys are not permitted to register for horse back riding.

Horse Back Riding

Horseback riding will be available during the School's Out Program. Tell all your school and home-schooled friends that our horse program will be open all week. $35 per day for a half-day session in the morning or afternoon.

  • Fall and Spring, girls currently enrolled in first grade and higher, have the option to attend the Horse Program for ½ of the day and the School’s Out Program the other half. Add $25 per day if you wish to attend the basic School’s Out program after or before the horse program.

Two sessions will be held each day, mornings from 9 am - 11:30 for girls entered in 1st 2nd and 3rd grade and afternoons from 12:30 - 3 pm for older girls. Instructional session(s) will be based on learning about horses in general, horse care, stable management and a riding session. This program is not meant for girls who ride regularly; it is designed for the novice to intermediate levels.
