Our concept of Grandparent’s Day is a family celebration – regardless of how your family is constructed: small, large, extended, in-laws/outlaws, friends. Come relax at Camp Amity Acres in the midst of the Pine Barrens.

All members of the family are an integral part of daily lives - families come in all shapes, sizes and varieties. We play together, laugh together, cry together, fight together, share stories and sometimes even resolve conflicts together. We honor and cherish the past through our family traditions, often making new traditions with each generation or new form of the family. We live today in a certain way because of the past. We live in celebration of the foundations our families have created for us.

Grandparents Day is a great opportunity for adults to relive part of their childhood and for children to connect with their grandparents through the common bond of playing outside. Activities like archery, as an example, allow all members of the family to come together and support each other to learn a new skill.

Games are also available. They offer a fun approach to team building - strengthening family communication through fun."

Grandparents Day is for more than just grandparents and their grandchildren – it's for the entire family. Everyone is invited, parents, aunts, uncles, etc. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

Camp Amity Acres is located on Jones Road in Waretown. Grandparents Day will take place from noon until 4 p.m. and admission is $7 per person. If you choose not to bring a picnic lunch, a combo meal including a hot dog, chips and drink will be available for $3.50.

Children age 4 and under are free.
